While writing this post I am still enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles sun combined with a 25ยฐC. The weather is hands down for sure in my top 10 list of pro’s of living in LA but there is more. Areas such as Santa Monica, Melrose Avenue, 3rd street make the City of Angels a real good place to live and also very hard to leave.
I came here for a 2,5 week vacation and after 2 months I still haven’t left. This trip was the first time I went on vacation alone. I felt that this was something I needed to do for myself. After my break up in May I needed some me time and LA was the place for me to be. I could have chosen to go to some place closer to home such as Paris or London. Only for some reason Los Angeles stole my heart since the first day we met. Since last time I went I could not stop talking about it for two years. I am not over reacting here when I say I talked about it Every Single Day. Just ask my friends for confirmation, they will confirm on how annoying I was. This did make me realize that Los Angeles was the place for me to go to.
For the past years I was trying to find a travel buddy who wanted to join my journey but most were broke, not interested enough or had already visited. Annoying right?
Which finally made me come to the decision to go alone. No one to reckon with except me. Since I had never done this before this was kind of a scary thing. Only I believe that growing up as an only child made things easier. When I was younger I always had to go out and find my own friends by myself, no brothers or sisters to count on or to hide behind. It might sound silly but I feel that this made me much more confident than others.
So as I was saying, my first trip to the City of Angels all by myself. Upon arrival I was lucky enough to meet up with a friend from Amsterdam who was by coincidence also in LA. Just for the record, during my time here we only met up twice. Which made my trip still a ‘all by myself’ experience.
Before I came to Los Angeles I already got myself in a support group for entrepreneurial women in the city. 4 days after my arrival they had organized an event which I was going to attend. This is where it all begun, the event where I made new friends who made this trip unforgettable.
This was it for now, but I’ll be back next week with another story about my LA journey.
