We are a few weeks past PFW, but I received a few requests from my dear followers asking about my experience that I could only listen and start writing.
Stress attack
This was actually my first time attending a Fashion Week. That is actually not a 100% true since I have attended some shows at Amsterdam Fashion Week. But in my mind, the big four only really matter. I didn’t think I was attending PFW until five days before the first show kicked off. You should know that I am quite serious when it comes to planning, so once I realized I had to plan, pack and prepare collaborations in five days, I freaked out.
Planning a trip in advance makes everything so much smoother. I hate drooling around in cities for food or start the day and try to come up with something to do. You are wasting a lot of time there which you could have used if you did your research before. Besides this matter, collaborating with brands can only be done when you plan in advance. Collabs are a must if you have to attend a lot of shows because on each show you have to look gorgeous and the paparazzi are everywhere. In my case, I was trying to reach out to my favorite brands five days ahead, and most did not even reply on time. So by now, I hope you understand why I get stressed out in situations like this.
Finding a hotel
The next hurdle was that I had to find myself transport and an accommodation. Booking.com is my website go-to when I need to find a place to stay. They offer the best hotels, and usually with some nice discounts. I also have a link you can use for your own booking if you’re interested, which gives you 25,- euros off all bookings. Even though the prices went up during PFW, I still found a very nice hotel with a reasonable price.
I had the pleasure to stay at the beautiful Parister hotel which is located in the 9th arrondissement. This is one of the best locations that I’ve stayed in Paris since literary everything I was looking for was within walking distance. The Musee du Louvre, the Notredame, La Fayette, you name it, and it was most likely very nearby. Also, the hotel has a hammam + swimming pool which is pretty unusual in Paris’ its tiny buildings. Going into the Hammam after a long day of walking is my type of relaxation. I might have told you guys this before, but I my feet are the worst. Worst as in I get blisters after a short walk. This doesn’t make any city trip easy so having a hammam and swimming pool to come back to is just the BEST.
First TIME driving through Europe
After driving for about 5 hours (it was my first time driving abroad, which you can imagine was very exciting!!) and arriving at the hotel we went into the city to shoot this look. I didn’t want to dress up too much after this long drive, as you can see in the results.
So far my introduction. Make sure you keep an eye on my Instagram, as I can’t wait to tell you all about my exciting experiences during my first fashion week!
